Gettin Crafty

Here are a few projects that I have been working on......

another pillow for Hannah's bed

a fabric flower that I found on this site, this girl is stinkin talented.

i also got the idea for this pillow from her site as well....this was my experimental pillow, but I am going to love making them for me and my sister's couches:)

and here is my little angel, who refuses to smile when I point the camera at her.

Rice Cereal

Yesterday we went to the doctor for Madeline's 4 month check -up
  • You weigh 13 pounds 3 ounces
  • You are 24 1/2 inches tall
  • Your head is a tad bit flat in the back so he recommended lots more tummy time
  • He also told up to start you on rice cereal because you might have a tendency to get up too many times during the night, we are hoping to fill your little belly so you stop waking up. Now, as of tonight, I am supposed to let you "cry it out"...I'm already crying...I don't know how I'm gonna do it:(

Here you are sitting up so big and tall in your high chair

And here you are after your first spoonful of cereal...so cute!

You ended up eating way more than I thought you would.....your such a good girl.

Sleeping Baby!!!

This book has saved my life...at least I think it has. I may be a little dramatic, but it has at least saved my life for the past 2 days.

I was having a tad bit of trouble with Madeline being a tad bit fussy and a tad bit reliant on me rocking her to sleep.
It is a brand new day and we have a brand new baby. She is going down for naps without crying and waking up so happy.
Whew.....thank you Steph for the recommendation.

Tummy time

One project down.....

It's finished!!!
Now, Target sells a pillow similar to this for $19.99. Once I got it home my sister, Camille, said that I should try and make it. Well, I sure am glad she said something....this is, however, why I bought the darn machine:)

I am going to my embroidery training tomorrow, so I think I am going to try another pillow but this time with her initials.
I'll let yall know how it turns out.

New Toy

I finally did it, I bought a sewing/embroidery machine. And, well, might I say...I am in love!!!
Over the past month I have been taking a sewing class at Hancock fabrics. I learned a lot and now am inspired to begin creating.

But first, I had to find the right machine. I went to 2 different stores and compared abilities vs. price vs. what I could actually handle. After a week of going back and forth, i finally decided on this most amazing machine......

It's a brother 900D.
I was told it is great beginner machine for sewing and embroidery. The biggest embroidery it will allow mw to do is a 4x4 picture/text. That's not very big, but Madeline's name, initials and anything else I can thinK of will fit just fine. I'm telling you....she will never have to wonder how or what her name is:)

Today she and I went to the fabric store. I am determined to make Hannah a replica pillow of one that I paid $20 for. I am pretty sure I can do it. That is what the zebra fabric is for. The other one I think I will attempt to make her a dress out of...we will see.

I'LL KEEP YALL POSTED!
