Flower Balls

I have begun the decorations for Madeline's birthday party and Easter. Since they are back to back, I have decided to just embrace the Eastery colors and have a Springy/Eastery Birthday party.
I have been on the hunt for some unique decorations and I found this one from this blog. So stinkin cute.

this is what you need to get started

and this is what they look like when you are finished

(very bad lighting, but you get the idea)

I have several more to make, but I am loving how they turned out.

Oh, My Eye

Madeline was born with a blocked tear duct. It has never been a real issue until recently.
It had gotten infected and even with an antibiotic drop it was not healing. After two doctor visits we were referred to an ophthalmologist. My thought was during that visit we would schedule the procedure to probe her eye, but instead, he said it needed to be done that day. I was scared, nervous and not ready at all to hear that news. It ended up being ok, but my little baby was SOOO upset when it was over.
Here are a few pictures of her eye...mostly for my own records, but I thought I would share.

the dot over her eye was for the doctor

this was the next day...so swollen, which later I found out was not normal..so, we are now on another drop to help with the swelling.

Poor baby:(
Today she is much, much better and I am so glad that this is behind us.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

10 months old

That's right...Madeline is really 10 months old

Here's what you have been up to...
  • you weigh 16.7 pounds
  • you still wear size 3 diapers
  • you can wear 9-12mth clothing (sometimes even 3-6 mths:)
  • you love table food and eat a ton all day long
  • i have started the weaning process since my milk supply is way down, i am trying to supplement with formula
  • you can drink out of a sippy cup with a straw...you hate all the other ones
  • you have 4 teeth...2 bottom and 2 top
  • i left you for the first time this month to substitute, you stayed with aunt camille and, well let's just say it wasn't the best..we are trying again in a few weeks
  • you still are not completely crawling, but you know how to get around
  • if i come into your sight you cry until i come pick you up...it makes me so sad

You are still such a sweet girl and love everyone...especially hannah. You just go crazy whenever she comes near you....I love that yall already have such a sweet bond.

I love you so much Madeline!!!!!

**** on a side note, we are going to see a pediatric ophthalmologist tomorrow for madeline's eye. she has always had a blocked tear duct, but it is now infected and will not heal. i am hoping that they will not tell us that she has to be put under to have her eye probed. will keep yall posted*****

Hard Days Work

I know this may seem strange to some, but today was the very first time that I have ever left Madeline for more than a couple of hours.
I guess you could say I am officially back working...very part time.
I am lucky enough to have my sister, Camille, who offered to watch her and who took such good care of her.

I think, overall, it went so-so.
I say so-so because my sweet little baby refused to take a bottle of formula from Camille. She ate her table food, but would not take the bottle. And I say refused because Camille said she sounded like she was going to throw up every time she brought the bottle near her mouth...that's my girl...DRAMA!!!

You wouldn't know that there was any problems with all of these sweet smiles.

Jules getting some loves in before school

playing on the floor

going night-night

She was very crabby when I picked her up because, well...she missed me of course, and because she only took one stinky, little hour and fifteen minute nap....ALL DAY!!!
Needless to say it is 5:13pm and she has already been asleep for the night for fifteen minutes. She was exhausted. I feel so bad for her...she was just out of her element:(

Well, I have a couple of more sub jobs lined up...but we will see how it goes. Not sure it's worth "rockin" her little world so much.

Thank you Camille for loving my girl like I would!!!!

First Date

Play date..with a boy..that is:)

Tiffany and I took the kids to the mall so they could have a play date.
Madeline had such a great time with Robby.

She also loved looking around at all the other kids..she is such a social butterfly..wonder where she gets that from.

Hope we get to do it again soon!

Snow Baby

I can hardly believe Madeline has experienced 2 huge snow storms!!
I am not a huge fan of snow, but her daddy sure is.
Here they are all bundled up.

Just like everything else this girl experiences...she LOVED the snow.
She never once even acted cold.

Eating the snow

Sitting inside daddy's snow angel

It was fun seeing her so excited!!!

Valentine's Day 2011

Valentine's Day has never been a super huge holiday around our house, but I didn't want it to go by without doing a little something special for my sweeties.

A yummy quiche made with love

And these delicious chocolate pecan butter bars made into hearts, of course.
And a special cupcake Corey received from one of his students:)

And we can't forget this sweet little Valentine...she made the day absolutely "lovely"

Hope you all had a sweet V-Day
