Independence Day

Happy Independence Day from our sweet little Madeline.....

Last year we started a fun tradition to have a breakfast party at our house and then head down the street for out neighborhood parade. we had a great turn out, but I was so busy I forgot to take pictures. I did, however, get one of my table....I like how it turned out.

Not only was it 4th of July today, but it was also Madeline's first time in the pool. She loved it!
Thank goodness, because there is no other place I love more than the pool.
She was so darn cute in her swim suit from Aunt Tiff.

Thank you to all the Troops, especially my two bothers-in-law how fought for us and our freedom.

Love you!!!

2 Months Old

Time sure is flying by. Madeline is now 2 months old....how does it happen so fast?

Here is what you have been up to sweet girl.......

We go to the dr. on the 22nd for your checkup, but if I had to guess I would say you are well on your way to 11 pounds.

you are wearing 1-2 size diapers
you are wearing 3mth clothes...sometimes they are a little too big
when we go in to get you out of your crib you smile and giggle when you see me, daddy or sister
speaking of sister, you just love her to pieces..she takes such good care of you and is very protective of you
you are not a fan of tummy time, but we try to get in 5-10 minutes each day
you have gotten night and day figured out and are sleeping 5-6hrs then you eat and go right back to sleep...we love you so much for that
and...you amaze us more and more each and every day.

I love being your mommy and am so, so grateful for each minute of each day that I get to spend with you.

Baptism

My sweet baby girl was baptized this past weekend. It was such a wonderful day and so many of our family and amazing friends were there to share it with us. My sister, Mary Madeline and her husband Reyno are her Godparents and they did such an awesome job. I am so blessed to have 3 sisters, but that also made it very difficult to choose a Godmother, I love them all so very much. Thank you Camille and Gianna for being so understanding.
Here a few pictures from the day..............

Date Night

Last night we went on our very first date night with out the baby. It was hard to leave her, but she was in great hands with Aunt Camille and Julianna.
We went to Jasper's with Tiff and Robby. We had a great bottle of wine and yummy food. It was such a nice night that we went and got ice cream after and just visited for a bit.
I only checked in once and Camille said she great.
It was so nice to get out, but I could not wait to get home to my girl.

1 Month Dr.'s Visit

so big!!!!

We went to the dr. for our 1 month visit.

You are now 9 pounds 7 ounces, that is a 2 pound gain in 2 weeks....you love to eat!!!!

You grew a quarter of an inch in length putting you at 20 3/4 inches.

And your head is measuring in the 50th percentile.

You also got your very first shot. Mommy could not bear to hold you so Aunt Camille did. You screamed for a second and then I nursed you and you were ok. It brought tears to my eyes.

Your so beautiful!!!

1 Month

Madeline, you turned one month today!
I can hardly believe it!!

This is what you have been up to sweet girl.....

You are still in newborn diapers.
You wear a lot of newborn onsies because it's the only thing that seems to fit you, but you are about to outgrow those any minute.
You are eating about every two hours. I try to put you off a bit, but you just SCREAM when you are hungry. The other day I noticed that you sucked your arm so hard that you gave yourself a blood blister.
Some nights you sleep really well and others you are pretty restless. I will say you love to sleep on my chest.
You are very sweet and hardly make a peep except when you are hungry or need to burp.

You have been such a joy since the day we met you. It's true when you hear that you never know true love until you have a child of your own. You are the light of our lives.

Love your mommy and daddy.

Mother's Day

Yesterday I celebrated my very first real Mother's day. I say real because ever since Hannah has been in my life we have always celebrated this day, but yesterday was extra special for me. Corey and Hannah made it so memorable. They surprised me with a beautiful brunch. Corey never ceases to amaze me with his cooking skills.
Then we headed to Mom's to celebrate with her. She is such an amazing example of a mother.

Me with my two beautiful girls.

Blessed.....I wish I could come up with a better, more descriptive word to explain how I feel.
Last year at this time, I remember being in church watching all the mommy's and daddy's dedicate their children. Wondering and hoping that one day I would get to be a mommy. I remember crying, well...sobbing, thinking I may never get that chance. Well, here I am holding the most amazing little miracle in the world. The past three weeks have been the most exciting, rewarding, exhausting and challenging of my life.....days that I would not change for anything. I am amazed every day that I am Madeline's mommy. I thank God for the privilege of loving and nurturing this little girl.
I am Blessed!!!!!
