Projects and Fabrics...Oh my!!!!

The lampshade in Madeline's room is one that I never really liked.....
so, I searched the blog world for some ideas and came up with this.

First, I started making my ruffles...love ruffles.
Then, I got gluing....around and around I went.

This is how it turned out....
again, if you look too close you will see a ton of imperfections. Sweet little Madeline will never know:)

My sweet friend Tiffany is going to help me get the word out on my burp clothes, so I decided to make her one for her son Robby.

And since I am trying to teach myself how to applique, I thought I would try it out for my new little angel, Harper. I'm hoping she will love it!

And then I decided I needed to go spend way too much money on fabric....I love fabric!

I see some sweet little dresses out of theses.....

And since I didn't have even one boy fabric I thought I would pick up a couple.

The owls were just so darn cute, I couldn't pass them up.

I think I will be very busy this next week.

Love to you all!

First of many

Madeline held a sippy cup for the first time today. I'm not sure if any water got in her mouth, but she did a great job holding it. I know I say this a lot, but I'm just so proud of her.

And.......here is my latest creation. The real reason why I wanted to buy a sewing machine in the first place.
Mind you, it is my first attempt and there is a lot of room for improvement......
Here it is................

Ta Dah!!!!!!!
Madeline's first pillowcase dress.
I am all ready to make 20 more!!!!

love to you all.

Birthdays

Today is Hannah's 10th birthday and Madeline is 5 months old!!!!

Madeline was not having this picture at all...

And then she said...to heck with you, I'm gonna rip this up...good thing it was the last picture.

Madeline, at 5 months you are doing a lot of cute things....
  • you love eating your toes
  • you have flipped from your tummy to your back and then back over again
  • after your last feeding of the night and I am trying to burp you, you press your little nose right up against mine and stare into my eyes..and then we kiss...it's one of my most favorite moments
  • you are still not quite sleeping through the night, but it's still ok with me
  • you are loving your rice cereal
We are love, love, loving you!!!!!

This and That...crafts

I found a tutorial on how to make my own headbands. And if anyone knows me, you know that my baby hardly ever goes anywhere without a bow on.

So, this is what you get when you combine a knee high, thread, and a little satin ribbon.

Beautiful headbands..and I made enough for all of my friends.

Here are the burp cloths that I have also been working on. A couple for my little one and one for my new special little girl....Harper.

If I could only learn how to applique...it's my next project.
More to come.....

Game Day

Beautiful little Tech girl.
Madeline, daddy told me that today was"game day", but forgot to tell me that Tech doesn't play till tomorrow. Oh well, we were dressed just in case:)

We did, however, have a big day...
I laid you down on your back and looked up at the tv and when I looked back down you were on your tummy!!! I had to think a second and ask myself, "did I lay her on her tummy?" But, nooooo, you did it all by yourself! I am so proud of you.

Cute little bottom

love to you all!!!
go tech!!!!

Finished projects???

First, I thought I would share this sweet picture...she just loves her daddy.

These are more fabric flowers that I have added clips to the back so i can put them on my sweet babies headbands.
All my friends with little girls...I promise you will be getting some of these:)

And here is one of my finished ruffle pillows. I have actually made 7 all together and am about to make 4 more for another sweet sister. They are really easy to make, they just take a lot of time. But I really do love sewing so it's ok with me.

I also made a couple of burp clothes that I have already given away and forgot to take pictures....ugh!! I am learning!!

Hope everyone has a great day!!!
Love you all!

September 1st

I realize that today is Sep. 2nd, but I was a little tired last night and couldn't muster up the energy to post. So, I'm doing it this morning.
Yesterday was my Daddy's 74th birthday and my Momma's and Daddy's 47th anniversary!!
Here is the beautiful couple just "a few" years ago.

A few of us kids went out to dinner with them last night...yum!!!!

Here's Daddy blowing out his candle.

And just some of the girls.

It was a really nice night.
I am so in awe of my amazing parents. They seem more in love today then ever, it really is a beautiful thing to see. Thanks Mom and Dad for being such wonderful examples....I love you dearly.
