Date Night

Last night we went on our very first date night with out the baby. It was hard to leave her, but she was in great hands with Aunt Camille and Julianna.
We went to Jasper's with Tiff and Robby. We had a great bottle of wine and yummy food. It was such a nice night that we went and got ice cream after and just visited for a bit.
I only checked in once and Camille said she great.
It was so nice to get out, but I could not wait to get home to my girl.

1 Month Dr.'s Visit

so big!!!!

We went to the dr. for our 1 month visit.

You are now 9 pounds 7 ounces, that is a 2 pound gain in 2 weeks....you love to eat!!!!

You grew a quarter of an inch in length putting you at 20 3/4 inches.

And your head is measuring in the 50th percentile.

You also got your very first shot. Mommy could not bear to hold you so Aunt Camille did. You screamed for a second and then I nursed you and you were ok. It brought tears to my eyes.

Your so beautiful!!!

1 Month

Madeline, you turned one month today!
I can hardly believe it!!

This is what you have been up to sweet girl.....

You are still in newborn diapers.
You wear a lot of newborn onsies because it's the only thing that seems to fit you, but you are about to outgrow those any minute.
You are eating about every two hours. I try to put you off a bit, but you just SCREAM when you are hungry. The other day I noticed that you sucked your arm so hard that you gave yourself a blood blister.
Some nights you sleep really well and others you are pretty restless. I will say you love to sleep on my chest.
You are very sweet and hardly make a peep except when you are hungry or need to burp.

You have been such a joy since the day we met you. It's true when you hear that you never know true love until you have a child of your own. You are the light of our lives.

Love your mommy and daddy.

Mother's Day

Yesterday I celebrated my very first real Mother's day. I say real because ever since Hannah has been in my life we have always celebrated this day, but yesterday was extra special for me. Corey and Hannah made it so memorable. They surprised me with a beautiful brunch. Corey never ceases to amaze me with his cooking skills.
Then we headed to Mom's to celebrate with her. She is such an amazing example of a mother.

Me with my two beautiful girls.

Blessed.....I wish I could come up with a better, more descriptive word to explain how I feel.
Last year at this time, I remember being in church watching all the mommy's and daddy's dedicate their children. Wondering and hoping that one day I would get to be a mommy. I remember crying, well...sobbing, thinking I may never get that chance. Well, here I am holding the most amazing little miracle in the world. The past three weeks have been the most exciting, rewarding, exhausting and challenging of my life.....days that I would not change for anything. I am amazed every day that I am Madeline's mommy. I thank God for the privilege of loving and nurturing this little girl.
I am Blessed!!!!!

1 Week Old

Madeline Rose you are 1 week old today. I can't believe how much you have already changed.
This is what you have been up to......
You do not like sleeping in your bassinet and you do not like sleeping on your back. We are going to try a swaddling blanket tonight and see how that goes.
You eat like the super star that you are and are eating every 3-4 hrs.
You do not cry much, only when you need to be changed or are hungry.
You have a very sweet personality. I know you are not "really" smiling, but when you do it melts my heart.
And most importantly...I love you beyond words.

Miracle Dr.

Friday we also had a chance to visit with the dr. who made Madeline possible. I called ahead to make sure he was available and I begged them not to tell him we were coming. As luck would have it he was free and we were able to surprise him with our beautiful little girl.

Dr. Madden, there are not enough words in the world to thank you for helping us create this gift. I swear you work right underneath God. You are amazing and again, are blessed to have you in our lives.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Playing catch up

WOW!!! These past few days of being home have been filled with emotion. A lot has been going on and I have been bad about updating. It is hard to find the time to sit down and blog when all you want to do is sleep whenever you get a free second. But, here is what we have been up to....
Here are a few more visitors that we had in the hospital.

This is my sweet friend Helen from school
This is sweet Keri, also from school, who is my long term sub for my class.

Beautiful Tiffany

My Aunt Judy, who I adore
Bringing home Madeline was such a wonderful gift. It was just me and Corey and we relished in every second of it.
Here she is in her "going home dress"...so pretty.

So proud!!!!

And on Friday we had our very first outing to the dr. She did great and everything looks perfect.

Daddy stripping her down

It has been a wonderful, but tiring few days, but I would not trade them for anything. We are so very blessed to have Madeline in our lives. I thank God every single day for blessing us with what is truly a miracle.
